Jerzy joined The Vein Centre in February 2016 and since 2018 he has been the new clinical director of the Clinic.

He was graduated in Poland in 1996, where he did surgical training before going to the UK where he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. After arriving in New Zealand he worked in Wellington Hospital until, after further training he became a Fellow of the Royal College of GP.

For many years he has been successfully performing Endovenous Laser Ablations (EVLAs), Radiofrequency ablations (RFA), MOCAs, Venaseal (glue) and Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy in Wellington and Auckland. He also is skilled in microsclerotherapy for spider veins.

He became a member of ACP and has Diploma of Procedural Phlebology.
Apart from vein problems, his other interest is community treatment of skin cancers, with the Diploma of Dermoscopy and Skin cancer Surgery done recently.

Jerzy is married and has a teenage daughter, spending free time on discovering new best fishing spots in our coasts.
The other members of the clinic are working on him to follow rugby!

 

Dr Robert Fris - The Vein Centre

For many years The team has been headed by Dr Rob Fris. A graduate of the Otago Medical School, his surgical training and experiences include New Zealand, Australia, Canada, USA, Scotland, India, and Brasil.

His background treating problem veins stretches back to 1978, while training in Canada, and to date has seen an estimated 4000 patients.

Rob recently has retired from his clinical work however he remains our most valuable peer!

Rob is married with 3 children and a dog. Apart from establishing one of New Zealand’s busiest surgical practices he has made time to be on the Ski Patrol at Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, learnt to fly a helicopter, dived with sharks, completed the Coast to Coast 3 times, and has been known to exaggerate the size and number of trout or snapper he has caught.

Lisa is our sonographer who trained at North Shore Hospital and still does some shifts in ultrasonography there.

Lisa has been a valued member of the team for several years and is married with two sons. Lisa spends most of her spare time running her boys to practices, games and the many activities that they engage in.

Ainsley Hurst

Ainsley is one of the cheerful, friendly voices that answers our phones and is on the reception desk to help you through the process of your consultation and treatment. She has also a long and extensive experience with us.

Married, with 3 children, she and her husband are keen followers of the All Blacks, and many waiting room discussions occur about how NZ is fairing in just about any sport.

Shona Lutterman - accounts person/receptionist

Shona Lutterman

Shona joined our team a couple of years ago as our accounts person/receptionist and is the friendly voice at the end of the phone a couple of days a week. Shona is married with 2 children and enjoys running and cooking.
